Job Objective: To identify, repair, maintain, install, and/or replace HVAC systems and equipment in order to ensure a proper and efficient working unit.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Diagnoses causes of problems and/or failures in heating/cooling/refrigeration systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs
- Travels to each customer location utilizing the best possible route after receiving each service assignment
- Stays in close contact with dispatcher regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with building and safety regulations
- Inspects all systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventative maintenance
- Prepares service invoice noting customer’s name, address, date, number of hours worked, materials used and secures customer’s or authorized signature and when appropriate secures any COD payments
- Installs equipment and systems for the purpose of providing enhanced and /or upgraded capabilities
- Prepares time card by documenting hours worked, job numbers, and mileage traveled
- Maintains vehicle, tools, and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability in safe operating conditions
- Participates in service meetings, workshops, training, and seminars as assigned for the purpose of conveying and gathering information required to perform job functions
- Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair
- Available to work overtime hours to handle peak demand or emergency situations
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work team
- Must have a valid Massachusetts Driver’s license and a Universal EPA Refrigerant Certificate
